Questions

Before you book

Before you book

Which languages do you work in?

English, and that is the point. Every booking runs in fluent, native-level English: the brief, the schedule, the shoot and the delivery. Tarık is a native Turkish speaker and Srdana a native Croatian speaker, which also covers Serbian and Bosnian. Our Spanish is basic, so if you need the whole service handled in Spanish we are not the right team for you yet, and we would rather say so upfront.

Do you both shoot every session?

No, and we do not pretend otherwise. Some packages include both of us and say so, the rest include one photographer. For intimate work like proposals or branding portraits one of us is usually better, because two people are harder to miss. For weddings and larger events two cameras earn their keep. We tell you which setup your shoot needs before you book.

Do you know good locations in Madrid?

Yes. Since we live here, we know both the iconic landmarks like Retiro Park and the Royal Palace, and the quieter local spots. We recommend the location based on the feel you want, whether that is urban, historic or natural. For proposals we scout the exact spot before the day and tell you where the light will be.

Do you travel outside Madrid?

Yes. Segovia, Toledo, Chinchón, Aranjuez and the Sierra de Guadarrama are all within an hour and are covered as normal work. Anywhere further in Spain we travel, with travel costs quoted separately and agreed before you commit. No surprise charges after the fact.

Do you have a studio?

We are on-location photographers. For couples and families we use the streets, parks and outdoors of Madrid. For brands and gastronomy we come to your restaurant, studio or office and shoot the business in its own element.

Prices and invoicing

Is IVA included in your prices?

For private clients, yes. Family and vacation sessions, weddings, elopements and proposals are shown with 21% IVA included, and the net amount is printed under each price so you can see the split. Business work, meaning food and beverage, events, personal branding and social content, is shown net with 21% IVA added on the invoice. If your business is VAT-registered in another EU country, send us your VAT number and we invoice under the reverse charge with no Spanish IVA.

How many photos do we get?

Every package states its own number. For orientation: a 30 minute proposal is 25 edited photos, an hour-long family session is 45, a four hour elopement is 250 and a full wedding day is 600. Event packages run from 80 to 300 depending on the hours. You get all of them at full resolution, plus a web-sized set for sharing.

Can we use the photos for our business?

Local restaurant and brand packages include a full licence for your own channels: website, social accounts, menu, delivery platforms, newsletters and internal decks. No time limit, no extra fee. Paid advertising, outdoor and print campaigns are licensed separately and quoted before the shoot, priced on reach and medium, which is standard practice. Private clients get full personal usage rights, so you can print anything, anywhere, forever.

Booking and cancellation

How do we book, and what do you take up front?

We hold your date with a reserva of 30% of the total. That payment is what blocks the date, so it is not refundable, and it comes off the total rather than being added to it. A further 40% is due two weeks before the shoot and the remaining 30% on delivery of the gallery. For short sessions the balance is usually settled on the day instead.

What if we have to cancel?

More than six months before the date, you lose only the reserva and owe nothing further. Between six and two months, the reserva plus 25% of the remaining balance. Under two months, the full contracted price, because at that point the date can no longer be filled. If we are the ones who cancel for a reason within our control, we refund everything you have paid plus an equivalent amount on top. Documented serious illness or hospitalisation of either of you or your immediate family, a death in the family, or an official ban on events, means a full refund with nothing retained.

Can we move the date instead?

Yes, and that is always easier than cancelling. The first change is free if we are available on your new date. If we are not, we refund everything except the reserva, or we propose a photographer of equivalent standard, your choice. Later changes carry a 100 EUR admin fee, and a move into a new price year is re-quoted at that year's rates.

Do you also film weddings?

Yes, we shoot film as well as stills, and it is quoted per wedding rather than sold as a fixed package, because the hours, the number of operators and whether you want a full film or a short trailer change the price completely. Ask us when you enquire. We are honest about where we are with this: there is no wedding film in the portfolio to show you yet, and we price accordingly.

On the day and after

How soon will we get our photos?

A sneak peek of highlights arrives within 48 hours. Full galleries follow within 5 working days for events, 7 for proposals, 10 for sessions and elopements, and 20 for full weddings. Every package states its own delivery time.

What happens if it rains on the day of our shoot?

Madrid is famous for its sunshine, but weather can be unpredictable. We watch the forecast for you. If it rains we either move to the next available clear day or shift the session to an indoor location or a covered landmark we already know.

We don't know what to wear. Can you help?

Yes. Once you book we send you our style notes. The rule is: coordinate your colours, do not match exactly. Neutral tones sit best in Madrid's golden light, and comfortable shoes matter more than people expect on Retiro gravel and Malasaña cobbles.

Do you retouch the photos?

Every photo is professionally edited for colour, light and our grading. We do not do heavy body alterations or plastic skin retouching unless you specifically ask for it as an extra.

Do we get the RAW files?

No, and we would rather explain why than argue about it later. A RAW file is unfinished work: the colour, contrast and grading that make the photo ours are applied afterwards, and the set you receive is also curated, with the blinks and the missed focus taken out. Once unfinished frames leave here under our name we cannot control what happens to them, and under Spanish copyright law the edit is part of the authorship. What you do get is every selected frame at full resolution, professionally edited, with full usage rights for your purpose.
